I enjoyed playing with the effects. They remind me of playing with Ableton Live. I know I am already enjoying this.
I played around with all the ultra key settings. Quickly got lost, but then started from the top, slowly one by one, I refined it. It made the most difference when I turned the lumination setting down under the color tab in ultra key settings to make the female more dull. I found she looked the best and most natural in the office setting.
I enjoyed this. I took the video of the beach. I am in a confined low ceiling basement/studio. I was very limited in movement without getting a lot of shadows. I really tried to get al the artifacts out, but still have much room for refinement. I also wrote the simple quirky track in Ableton Live to make the mood lighter. I recorded the background sound separate at a different location with less people and vehicle noise. I then recorded my voice in my studio, and put a high pass eq on to take out some of the bass in my voice to make it sound like I am outside.
This was really neat. It’s actually pretty straight forward. Split Screen opens up so many possibilities and avenues. Can’s
I have always wondered about how to make shots look better through editing, and it seams a lot is done in after effects. This is really going to step up my production quality. I played around quite a bit with all the blend modes. I may have used one less, but for the assignment I did my best.
First of all, I was born in 1980, and grew up with 60’s and 70’s programming, which I emulated in my blends and opacities. I got flash backs of the classic “Army Of Darkness” and clay based animation I used to watch a s a child. I also enjoyed super imposing the singer in the background. It all makes sense now! Ha.
I had trouble with the flower. I have a 4k monitor and that might have been the problem. I had colour bleeds, trying to emphasize the flower. Great technique though. With practice everything can look better!
This is hands down the coolest trick yet in the course. I am totally going to put this to use in future productions. From eyes glowing to things getting too hot, the possibilities are limitless.
Every time I get into a project, I can’t put it down. Learning how to work the position and crop together really honed it in for me. By the end it all made way more sense. That’s not to say I didn’t have difficulties with layers and sometimes got so lost in movement and automation, I had to erase clips and start over. I took last week to set up a shoot with some friends and got the shots I needed. I had the simple music track already made lying dormant in my Ableton Projects. I also used blends on most the scenes to enhance the image. I need to learn more about video filming and photography. I am not happy with the resolution in my video. It may have been my ISO was set too high. I used my Canon 750D and my GOPRO hero4 session with a head mount.
I really like how you can change parameters in multiple frames at the same time in Premiere Pro. It was the first time I took some free sounds and music from freesounds, org, they worked out well. The laugh makes the whole video. I laughed out loud when I watched this a number of times. So many simple tricks unveil the video tricks we all see in media daily. Coooool.
This was fun but challenging. I chose playdough which was fun but very time consuming. If I knew now what I did then, I would have shot way more shots with less motion in between them. I came in to a number of technical issues, one being my remote kept disconnecting from the free app we were using. I would have to exit the app and restart to reconnect the remote. Then the app wouldn’t remember my aperture, ISO and focus settings, so I got some flickering, because I didn’t write it down at first. I also used a green screen with a piece of black construction paper on it. It would have been a good idea, but I decided to shine a red light from the left and it made honing the ultra key very difficult. I tried to duplicate the shots and crop one from the left and the other from the right and use different ultra key eye droppers from each side, but I still couldn’t resolve all the ultra key artifacts. Note for beginners, just start with one light source! I wanted to actually try writing a score like piece of music for the first time in Ableton Live. It turned out well, and blanketed the whole mood and tone behind the film. I lastly added some synthetic wind sound I got from freesounds.com. It definitely elevated the epic. I wanted to record real wind with my Zoom but found I would have to drive very far to be in a place with no human sounds in the valley. I would definitely love to work on a large stop motion project.
I am so excited to start with After Effects. I am obsessed with animation and moving graphics in an effort to try and start a YouTube page…or two. This is The program I need to study. Putting all the Adobe Cloud pieces together is like collecting Infinity Stones. (Reference from The Avengers Series)
I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this. I feel like I have acquired a super power. I cannot wait to put this to use. What a powerful tool. I can’t wait to make my own lense flairs and much much more.
I love playing with motion graphics. Although some things needed to be googled, I picked it up fairly quickly. I spent half a day messing around and googling, then I spent another day composing. I took the video in my back yard, and then added the bird audio separate from freesound.com. I did get lost in the movement of the graphics, but when I figured out how to change the anchor point It all got easier. I played with position, vector paths, colour, gradients, scale and maybe a few other things. This is my calling, I can tell because of how much I think about it on off time.
Again, this was fun to make. I utilized my green screen and spent quite a bit of time doing animations for the background. I used an Overlay blend mode on all shots that really crisped up the image. With more training I would really like to get into contrast and blends and learn how to make real professional looking cinema grade shots. The animation took the longest. I created 3 compositions in After Effects, then I went over some of the non green screen shots and overlaid and played with text in Premiere Pro. Also the colour dial on the tape deck was made in Premiere. I have to say, what I envisioned and what I got in the end was pretty similar, so I am happy…..in an amateur kind of way.
