The Digital Flight Plan and Log App is a visual based app with additional log forms, mostly navigated by buttons. To test my mobile app, I would use the Tree Test method. It is a straightforward approach that is less confusing for the participant. There are not a lot of features in the app, therefore card sorting testing may not be as useful. With the Tree Test method, the questions can be straight forward, and the answers are concise. The results would be useful to me to see exactly how long they took on each page and how long it took to find the correct answer to increase usability. It will show us if they achieved the goal or failed the goal. They may cause a change to button layouts and colors as well as compass position. If the buttons could be more accessible or visible, that would give the user a clearer set of goals to achieve in specific order. It may also make us change to scroll bars for very precise information, in some options. I would also use the First Click Test Method. This is a visual based method. Being a largely visual based app, it would give us value info on how users navigate the app. This would allow us to see how fast it would take the user to find the buttons and resources needed. It may show us we need to add more, or less buttons, or move them to be more clearly read. Both methods will also show exactly what regions are using the app which will ultimately help the sales and overall success of the app.
